AirMarker R.Five – Emergency Signal Balloon for Boating and Marine Safety

The AirMarker R.Five is a compact emergency signaling system developed for recreational and professional boating. Designed for rapid deployment, it provides a highly visible aerial marker that helps rescuers quickly locate a person or vessel in distress.

Once activated, the fluorescent orange signal balloon rises up to 5 meters above the water, creating a clear visual reference that remains visible for up to three days. The balloon's altitude can be adjusted using the tether line to suit changing weather and water conditions.

Unlike conventional emergency signaling devices, the AirMarker R.Five includes a waterproof Dry Bag that remains useful after deployment. The trigger unit can be repacked into the bag and attached to the user, allowing it to float safely alongside them instead of sinking.

To improve visibility during day and night operations, the balloon incorporates:

The LED requires one-time activation before use. It then automatically switches on below 10 lux and switches off above 20 lux, providing approximately 22 hours of illumination.

Radar Visibility Support

The AirMarker balloon features a specialized coating designed to positively influence its radar signature, improving the possibility of detection by marine search and rescue radar systems.

Radar visibility depends on numerous external factors, including weather, radar equipment, distance, balloon altitude, and sea conditions. While reliable radar detection cannot be guaranteed, the adaptive coating is designed to improve localization during many search and rescue operations.
