AirMarker R.Four – Emergency Signal Balloon for Watersports and Marine Rescue

The AirMarker R.Four is a compact emergency signaling system designed for watersports, boating, and marine activities where rapid location identification can be critical. Lightweight and easy to carry, it fits conveniently into safety kits, emergency equipment, and watersports gear, while remaining ready for immediate deployment when needed.

Once activated, the highly visible fluorescent orange balloon rises up to 5 meters above the water surface, creating a clear aerial marker that helps rescuers identify a person, vessel, or incident location from a distance. The system can remain visible for up to three days, significantly improving the chances of rapid detection during search and rescue operations.

Emergency Visibility and Signaling

The AirMarker system combines a deployment unit with a luminous signal balloon connected by a durable high-performance tether line. Once deployed, the balloon provides an unmistakable visual signal indicating that assistance is required.

For enhanced visibility during low-light conditions, the balloon incorporates:

- Integrated LED light source
- Reflective elements
- High-visibility fluorescent orange balloon design

The LED is activated once using the on/off switch and then automatically operates based on ambient light levels, switching on below 10 lux and off above 20 lux. The light source provides up to 22 hours of illumination.

Radar Visibility Support

The AirMarker balloon features a specialized coating designed to positively influence its radar signature and improve localization possibilities during search and rescue operations.

Depending on environmental conditions, radar equipment, distance, and deployment circumstances, radar visibility may vary. While reliable radar detection cannot be guaranteed, the system has been designed to improve the likelihood of detection and assist rescue teams in locating individuals or vessels more efficiently.
