Detailed Overview

The Watermist Applicator 241 (FI-WMA241) is the largest and most extensive watermist applicator in the Fire Isolator range, developed as an extended version of the FI-WMA126 and FI-WMA138. It is specifically engineered for fighting car fires and limiting electric vehicle (EV) battery fires by delivering water mist directly to the underside of the vehicle—where lithium-ion battery fires typically originate.

Thanks to its extended length, the FI-WMA241 can cool almost the entire bottom of the vehicle, significantly reducing heat, slowing thermal runaway, and limiting fire spread. In addition to under-vehicle placement, the applicator can also be positioned sideways, providing flexible deployment options depending on the incident layout.

Performance and Application

The FI-WMA241 is designed for high-capacity cooling in large or fully involved vehicle fires, making it particularly suitable for:

At 4 bar water pressure, each unit produces a minimum watermist output of 215 liters per minute, ensuring effective cooling over a wide surface area and improving fire control in prolonged EV fire scenarios  .
